Secret deal over Campsbourne Community Centre

Second piece of bad news courtesy of Haringey Council this week – this one being the secret goings on over the closed community centre site on The Campsbourne.

This Hornsey estate would really benefit from the centre reopening – and it would be a great boost for the main residents in the area who are putting in great efforts to all sorts of local schemes to benefit their community.

But instead, it looks as if Haringey Council has done a deal with developers – and certainly isn’t properly answering questions about the site’s future.

  1. Where is Campsbourne community centre? I’m familiar with Hornsey, green space overlooking Alexandra Palace, nearby the Waterworks system. I have previously visited the area, however, was unaware there was a community centre.

  2. What an absolute cheek! You apparently cared enough to save the Campsbourne Centre in 2008 and lobby for more equipment and now you are part of the Government who have just told Haringey that it is to close the Centre (and all others) to save costs.
How on earth do you think we will get the quality of care for our children if this centre closes down? I am training to be a teacher and actually do some good as a single mum and not depend on state benefit to keep me – are you trying to make it absolutely impossible for anyone other then families who can support themselves to get on in life?
Campbourn school is amazing and will always provide care but they cannot afford to provide the high qualty care we get and pay for now.
It disgusts me – That you Lynne can be so deceitful and fake and pretend you care.
