For several years now, I have been lobbying my local MP & your predecessor Barbara Roche, former Labour MP, on the matter of Tibet. Today the plight of Tibetan people has once again become the centre of global attention. What is happening in Tibet is hideous, particularly its detention of the Panchen Lama. The Panchen Lama is second to the Dalai Lama in Tibetan Buddhism. Whilst the Chinese wait for the Dalai Lama to die, they seek to destroy the preservation of Tibetan Buddhism by imposing their own Dalai Lama upon the people of Tibet. God willing, this will not happen!!!!!!!!!!!! FREE TIBET! FREE TIBET! FREE THE PANCHEN LAMA! FREE TIBETAN BUDDHISM FROM CHINESE STATE OPPRESSION OF RELIGION!

For once well done Lynne Featherstone . Those sports and show biz so called personalities who carried the Touch did so knowing it is dripping with the blood of Tibetens as well as Falun Gong Practitioners , Democracy Campaigners and Roman Catholics .

I read the Haringey Independent, a picture of Cllr Monica Whyte, Haringey's Lib Dem candidate for the Greater London Assembly, pictured at the pro-Tibet demo. Strangely enough, I did not hear from Cllr Whyte when she was initially elected, requesting councillors support flying the flag of Tibet from Haringey Civic Centre building during the Tibetan Uprising Day.

This brings into question whether this tactic is simply political opportunism by Cllr Whyte!!!!!! It appears to me, Cllr Monica Whyte only cares about Tibet and China's human rights because she wants to sit on the Greater London Assembly...

I would have expected her to have expressed similar sentiments, when I was seeking to win supporters to fly the flag of Tibet from the Civic Centre building.

Campaign for a Tibet-China Dialogue at the Forthcoming
G8 Summit in Hokkaido, Japan

Japan is hosting the G8 Summit in Hokkaido from July 7 to July 9, 2008.
It is urgent that the world leaders make the struggle for Tibetan autonomy
and the recent violence a major point of discussion during the summit.
This is a major gathering of the world leaders before the Beijing Olympic
begins in August.

We urge our government and the world leaders to do the following at the summit:

* Invite the Dalai Lama and Hu Jintao to have a dialogue along with the G8
members to resolve the Tibet issue. ASEAN countries as well as India,
Pakistan and Afghanistan may also monitor this meeting.

* Pressure the Chinese government to have continuous and meaningful
dialogue with the Dalai Lama and his representatives following the summit.

* Have an independent group ensure the continuation of the dialogue.

I have been outraged and deeply disturbed by the Chinese government's
behavior in Tibet. I appreciate that you have urged China to resolve
the Tibet issue peacefully. However, it is not enough. The unrest in Tibet,
including the provinces of Sichuan, Gansu and Quighai, has seen no real
solution at all.

I feel that our country must continue pressuring China to resolve
this issue peacefully. I request that you take the following action
at the summit in Japan so that the resolution for Tibet will proceed
in a meaningful manner.


* Invite the Dalai Lama and Hu Jintao to have a dialogue along with the
G8 members to resolve the Tibet issue. ASEAN countries as well as India,
Pakistan and Afghanistan may also monitor this meeting.

I truly hope that you will take actions to help Tibet. The suffering of the
Tibetans and the Chinese affects us all.
