Well done on behalf of all the residents of Crouch End. I was particularly offended by the banner at the junction of Park Road and Wolseley Road which stuck out like a sore thumb in a the middle of a residential part of Crouch End, away from the shops and the Broadway. I don't know how the Council could justify its position on this type of advertising given its pledge to promote healthy eating in schools. It's just one more example of local authority hypocrisy.

Resident of Tivoli Road N8

Well done Lynne! It's crazy how long it seems to take to make people listen to sense about our local environment and not just to local self-inflicted legislation (made to appear irreversible). Odd how tiny minds can make such enormous blunders.

Bet Edwards
Creighton Ave N10

Well done Lynne and co - result!

However, I wonder who agreed to this crazy scheme in the first place. Which council committee or council officer gave it the go-ahead.

Local accountability seems to be in a very sorry state. I remember not long ago making enquriries of the council over the series of concerts in Finsbury Park and being totally unable to track down when it was decided to hand a large amount of money to the organisation concerned to arrange the concerts.

I've no objection to council officers and committees being given delegated responsibilities to make decisions on our behalf as appropriate, but who should know who they are, exactly what was decided and when.

Mark Whitehead
Mountview Road
