Where si the British Obama? Well perhaps the party most like the Democrats is Labour (albeit vastly less competent of course).

Obama is of course mixed race and not black so obviosuly he would be from ofne of the many mixed race families. Obama spent most of his political career in Chicago, a large northern US city slightly to the East of the country, so perhaps our equivalent is Leeds. Thus there's a chance the next Obama is a mixed race Labour supporting community worker in Leeds.

Lets say he wants to stand in the constiuency on west side of Leeds as that's where he is from and thus he woudl have support there. Well quite simply he can't because they have an all female shortlist. Perhaps he's also somewhat well known towards the north West of Leeds too and so could represent that community almost as effectively instead? Well tough - there's another all women shortlist there too!

Thus we quite possibly won't see the next Obama in the UK. Instead of being Prime Minister in say 15 years time he'll still be stuck working as a community worker in Leeds and instead we'll get some corrupt, incompetent idiot out of their depth who got promoted through politically correct reasons rather than through merit.

"Any and all of you can be the Obama in your own area."

That really isn't true in the slightest if you're a Labour supporter or the wrong gender is it? There's barely a handful of seats in the entire country open to up and coming males, and almost none will be truly open and instead no doubt have someone parachuted in.

If people aren't going to be selected on merit then the next Obama has no chance. On top of that things are only going to get worse. We'll probably soon have racist all black shortlists next and no doubt the next Obama won't be quite black enough or will be part Asian or Chinese and somehow not the the required ethnicity.

Where is the British Obama???? We've got our very own in David Cameron.

Good orator, very persuasive, never actually achieved anything, keen to tear down the legacy of his predecessor and likely to disappoint if put into power.
