Fairer taxes

Here is a short clip on the Liberal Democrat fairer taxes policy – where no one will pay any tax on the first £10,000 of their earnings. We have currently an unfair tax system where a cleaner, for example, will pay more in tax proportionately than a banker! Putting money back in the pockets of low and middle income earners re balances this unfair tax system and encourages and values work.

I agree lynne, the tax system needs a complete overhaul. We’ve ruined the national balance sheet by overloading on debt and the easiest way of repairing this damage is through work. Increasing the wage has the same economic impact as reducing the debt, so this policy would make a huge difference to those that for one reason or another have gotten themselves into financial difficulty during the boom.

Vince Cable knows this which is why he’s been pushing for a form of land tax recently, something that I advocate wholeheartedly. I’d definately like to see more Lib Dems get behind him on this, imo this would be the single biggest thing we could do to get our economy working again.
