Alexandra Palace

Labour-run Haringey Council ran up debts of over £60 million for Alexandra Palace - which Haringey residents have to pay for via their Council Tax.

Currently around £7.5 million is being paid out every year to pay off the debts - money which could otherwise have gone on providing better services in the borough.

Labour's plans to sell-off the Palace have been blocked by the courts because they failed to consult properly with local residents.
